New hat!

This is in no way food related, but I bought a new hat today to celebrate the fact that I'm nearly done my first year of Creative Photography.

If I make the Dean's List again, I will definitely buy something else....I've been eyeing a flight bag from one of the neighbourhood antique shops.

In food related news, I am making Potato Leek Soup for dinner tonight. The thing I love about living in Roncesvalles Village is the vegetable markets. I buy my potatoes here, my leeks there, and my herbs further up the street. You can get everything you need to make dinner just by walking up and down Roncesvalles. The only time I actually go to a supermarket is if I need canned goods, because the milk is just as fresh and cheap in the multitudes of corner stores.

  1. You will, of course, make the Dean's list and deserve an appropriate memento.

And I do like the hat, though, top trim aside, the colour and pattern reminds me of...a certain hat I wear each year in a marsh at Long Point, lusting after avian creatures. Ya think a duck would object to that little bit of piping?

And you're right about the Village here. My veggie intake has at least doubled, and I rarely have to go elsewhere, though I feel a bit intimidated by the assemblage of yuppies, creative wannabees and poseurs assembled at, say, Cherry Bomb, on a weekend.
